Fast and comprehensive N- and O-glycoproteomics analysis with MSFragger-Glyco | Nature Methods

Recent advances in methods for enrichment and mass spectrometric analysis of intact glycopeptides have produced large-scale glycoproteomics datasets, but interpreting these data remains challenging. Researchers present MSFragger-Glyco, a glycoproteomics mode of the MSFragger search engine, for fast and sensitive identification of N- and O-linked glycopeptides and open glycan searches.

Highly interconnected enhancer communities control lineage-determining genes in human mesenchymal stem cells | Nature Genetics

Adipocyte differentiation is driven by waves of transcriptional regulators that reprogram the enhancer landscape and change the wiring of the promoter interactome. Here, researchers use high-throughput chromosome conformation enhancer capture to interrogate the role of enhancer-to-enhancer interactions during differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells. They find that enhancers form an elaborate network that is dynamic during differentiation and coupled with changes in enhancer activity.

COVID-19 Knowledge Graph: a computable, multi-modal, cause-and-effect knowledge model of COVID-19 pathophysiology | Bioinformatics

The COVID-19 crisis has elicited a global response by the scientific community that has led to a burst of publications on the pathophysiology of the virus. By extracting and formalizing this knowledge in a structured and computable form, as in the form of a knowledge graph, researchers can readily reason and analyze this information on a much larger scale. Here, researchers present the COVID-19 Knowledge Graph, an expansive cause-and-effect network constructed from scientific literature on the new coronavirus that aims to provide a comprehensive view of its pathophysiology.
